Valorization of by-products and/or waste streams (glycerol, waste organic solvents);
Catalytic soot oxidation (DPF);
NOx catalytic abatement;
Development of novel catalyst formulations;
Development of structured multi-functional and hybrid catalytic reactors.
Roberto Sanchirico was born in 1966 and graduated in Chem. Engineering at the Univ. of Naples "Federico II" in 1994. From March 1995 to May 2000 he developed his research activity tanks to a series of fellowships and research contracts both at the Inst. of Research on Combustion (IRC) and Chem. Eng. Dept. of the University of Naples. From September 2000 to December 2001, he worked at the Chem.l Eng. Dept. of the Univ. of Naples as Research Technician. In December 2001, he joined IRC as a researcher. His scientific interests are concerned with the study of runaway reactions and thermal instability processes. He was responsible for the Operating Unit working in Naples in the frame of a scientific project concerned with a PRIN2007 and is currently responsible for different activities concerned with air/dust mixtures explosion phenomena. He is the Scientific Responsible of the "Laboratory for the Study of Runaway Reactions and the Characteristics of Flammability and Explosivity of Combustible Dust" at the Inst. of Scienc. and Techn. for Sust. Energy and Mobility (STEMS).
