Synthesis and characterization of advanced materials:

Carbon based nanomaterials derived from wastes or from thermoconversion products;

Metal oxides and their hybrids and/or composites;

Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and their hybrids and/or composites;

Analysis of products of thermoconversion processes:

Structural and compositional characterizations of pyrolysis products;

Structural and chemico-physical characterizations of combustion derived particulate;

Chemico-physical characterization of:

Feedstocks for pyrolysis and their possible pretreatment;

Complex carbon based materials (es. carbon black, carbon soot, crude oils, pitches, tar, biochar);

V. Gargiulo holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences (2009) and a full degree in Chemistry (cum laude, 2005). She has been working at CNR since 2010, at first as research fellow and then with a permanent position as researcher (July 2020). She is involved in national and international research projects. Her main research activities deal with advanced materials synthesis and characterization. She was a visiting researcher at different national and international universities and research centers. She performs teaching activities for the University of Naples Federico II and Universitas Mercatorum. She takes part to teaching activities promoted by STEMS-CNR as well as to outreach activities. She is member of different COST Actions and of the Italian section of Combustion Institute. She is member of the editorial board of 4 MDPI journals, she serves as guest editor for MDPI and Frontiers article collections and as reviewer for many Elsevier, Springer and MDPI journals.
